A few days ago, the settings in the PRAM of my Mac got screwed up: my
application font was Chicago, all the other settings were strange as well.
Rather that reset all of them one by one, I removed the battery from the
back of the Mac and re-inserted it.  Now the settings are fine, and they
persist when I power down.  However, my clock seems to have stopped ticking.
Does anyone know what the problem is?  I am afraid that if I go to a dealer
to get this fixed, I will get an entirely new digital board, and since I do
not have AppleCare ...
