For only a little more money you can get internal memory that can be used as a ramdisk or as program memory. Also, the next crop of hard disk drives that will hook up to the SCSI port will be cheap and fast enough to kill any advantage the external ramdisk has in terms of speed or backup in case of program error. -steve
