Thomas) Organization: University of Utah CS Dept Lines: 20 I am having trouble running MicroSoft Word on an upgraded Mac 512 (i.e., 128K rom and 800K disk). In particular, it hangs when it tries to print. I think you'll agree that a word processing program that can't print is pretty useless. Some particulars: I am using the 'old' system (pre Mac+, not sure of the exact version). MacWrite will print successfully under these conditions. I got Word to print today using the Assimilation Work-n-Print DA (I guess it works because Word isn't opening the Imagewriter driver directly). It also hangs trying to create a PostScript file with LaserWriter. I haven't tried it with System 3.1 (can't find one on a Saturday), nor have I tried it with a LaserWriter on Appletalk (they're not accessible today, either). Anybody got any hints? I eventually need LW output, so using Work-n-Print won't hack it. -- =Spencer ({ihnp4,decvax}!utah-cs!thomas, thomas@utah-cs.ARPA)
