The only difference being the size of the hard disk drive (and maybe the number of serial ports) which may be ordered with the system. It is strictly a marketing strategy which makes the 3B1 so much more expensive than the 7300. ie: You get a $700 disk and pay an extra $2000 for it because the 7300 is now a "different" (3B1) machine. I personally think that AT&T is trying to fill a niche which would be better filled by an expandable 7300. Their strategy surprises me in light of the fact that the old Bell Operating Companies insisted on buying only those switches which could be expanded. THEY didn't want to buy a "new" switch just to add more lines. OOOPPPSSS my flame is showing :-).
