   hao has been experiencing a constant disk problem over the last two months.
This has not been as noticeable as it might have been, because only the disk
where the users' files are located has been affected, and uucp sites, whose
home directory and all the places they read and write to are on other drives,
have still been able to log in and run normally even when the problem disk was 
down. Last night, however, we had the entire machine down all night long for 
extensive diagnostics on the problem disk (DEC field service has been tearing 
their collective hair out over this! :-). Some delays in mail and/or news can
be expected to have occurred, but nothing, as far as I know, was lost.
