In many non-mainstream religious groups, as well as some large ones (Muslims, for one example), it is customary to adopt another name for use within the group. The reasons are many and varied, but I just couldn't get comfortable with another name. After 25 years, I've gotten used to mine. So instead of Mark, within the group I go by Marc. I thought it was nice to find a way to follow customary practice and not follow it, all in one stroke. -- < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < < <> > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Mark D.
