I think I know why hackers tend to be night owls. From my own experience, 
working late in the evening is much more peaceful, where there are few people
around, and those are there WANT to be there. At 9:00 in the morning, that
simply isn't true. So hackers manage to have a peaceful morning and a 
peaceful evening.
