Lines: 37 After travelling in Europe this summer and visiting many beaches full of beautiful, all-over deeply tanned people, I have to vote No Tan Lines. Maybe it had something to do with people's attitudes on the beaches - they seemed so relaxed, so untroubled with the usual apprehensions and self- consciousnesses typical of American beaches. It was not a big deal for people to go topless or completely nude in Europe - it's just a body! Here one would get arrested. One thing I saw that really touched me was a father helping his daughter windsurf. She wore only a bikini bottom and had a beautiful all-over tan (and a body that would make Kim Alexis cry). But her father didn't seem at all phased by his beautiful daughter wearing virtually nothing on a public beach - he just helped her get back on that windsurfer until she finally succeeded. MY father would have just about died of embarrassment seeing me topless. He would never be able to help me windsurf with such a natural manner as this father had. It just never occurred to them that she was *naked* (almost). (Not to mention when I tried windsurfing, I drifted out so far I had to be rescued by an Australian couple in a paddleboat, but that's another story...) noemi ----------- {allegra|decvax|seismo}!rochester [!ritcv]!moscom!noemi "On a souvent besoin de plus petit que soi!" -- "The Faster I Go the Behinder I Get" --Lewis Carroll Dave Carlson {allegra,seismo,decvax}!rochester!ur-valhalla!dave
