I am quoting from today's (Mar 27) NY Daily News, Liz Smith's column:

"Jane Wyatt has been signed to play the mother of Spock, the half-human
Vulcan, in Paramount's "Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home."  Jane created this
role on the famous TV series, back in November 1967."

At least we know one role Eddie Murphy won't have!
