Specifically, a gentleman wanted to design a power oscillator for a strobe flash. For the transformer design queries Ferronics Incorporated provide a pamphlet which covers torroid design considerations (applicable to most transformer design actually), and a small torroid starter kit. Their address is: Ferronics Incorporated, Ferrite Division 60 North Lincoln Road East Rochester, New York 14445 (716) 377-6820 Most of the transformer related queries can be answered from this short document. I have designed some inverter transformers (as a hobbyist); they seemed to work reasonably well. The biggest problem is determining the B-H characteristic of your ferrite material. The oscillator design is an iterative process. If you have any other questions just send mail. Kevin Szabo' -- Kevin Szabo' ihnp4!watmath!watvlsi!ksbszabo (VLSI Group,U of Waterloo,Ont,Can)
