The "f" protocol is intended for use over an X.25 network and may be better able to deal with delays. The "t" protocol is intended to let you run uucp over a TCP network. We use it here as a kludge for transferring news and it runs really fast. I've seen the CDS V.32 full duplex 9600 over dialup modems but they are about $3500.
