Message-ID: <311@lewey.UUCP> Date: Fri, 9-May-86 15:08:36 EDT Article-I.D.: lewey.311 Posted: Fri May 9 15:08:36 1986 Date-Received: Mon, 12-May-86 00:04:50 EDT Distribution: na Organization: American Information Technology, Cupertino CA Lines: 19 Keywords: GNU,emacs Does anyone have diffs for a change to GNU Emacs to provide Gosling-Emacs style names for backup files. That is, I would like the backup for "x.c" to be ".#x.c", not "x.c~", and the recovery file for "x.c" to be ".##x.c", not "#x.c". I prefer this, since it makes the backups invisible in a regular ls listing. I have usually arranged to automatically remove such files when they are old enough with a crontab entry (for those users who wish to have that service). William J.
