When the dumped Emacs does garbage collection, it dies with a "Fatal error.Memory fault - core dumped" message. I've taken a quick look at the core dump, and the last function executed before fatal is mark_object. Since there are (garbage-collect) lines liberally sprinkled through loadup.el, and since temacs loads and dumps just fine, I assume that the problem exists only after dumping. Help! I can only guess that the problem has something to do with the garbage collector attempting to mark an object in the read-only text segment. Has anyone else seen this problem?
