		     Tektronix Smalltalk-80 Classes

	Tektronix will be giving a four-day Introductory Smalltalk-80
course at the following locations:

	Atlanta Georgia			May 20-23, 1986
	Santa Clara California		July 15-18, 1986

	This is a fast-paced class designed to introduce the student to
object-oriented programming, the Smalltalk-80 programming language and
environment, and to prepare the student to write simple applications using
the model-view-controller paradigm.

Course Description:

	The course includes lectures on object oriented programming
concepts; the Smalltalk-80 system, structure, and implementation; details
of the Smalltalk language; introduction to existing Smalltalk code; the
debugger; the graphics interface; the model-view-controller paradigm; and
change management.

	Lectures will alternate with hands-on lab sessions covering the
Smalltalk-80 user interface; the tools for program design, development,
and debugging; and the change management subsystem.  Participants will use
Tektronix 4404 Artificial Intelligence Systems for the lab assignments.

Necessary Background:

	Participants should have experience with a high level programming
language.
