Also an old copy protection scheme was to have a program do a CRC check on itself after being loaded. If PD software developers included these 2 schemes as standards we could be a little more secure that we were getting legitimate copies of these often outstanding (e.g. ARC512) programs. I guess we've forgotten about CRC checks now that modem comm programs are better! -------
