The Anchor modem isn't nearly as good noise-wise as the USRobotics
Courier 2400 or the Hayes.

The Hayes uses the Rockwell chip set which still has some problems,
the last I heard.

I have a Courier 2400 at home and two at work and am very pleased with
them.  They work on lines that have garble problems with ordinary 212a
type modems (probably because of the adaptive equalization feature in
the Courier).
