Some thought on 2400 bps modems...

Hayes: not very Hayes-compatible. Doesn't work very well with existing comm
 progs designed for the Hayes 1200

US Robotics: if you can prove that you are the sysop of a bbs, they'll give
 you an OUTrageous discount, cheaper than you can get mail-order, anyplace.
 Beware the "old rom" problem. The first version that came out had a lot of
 problems with the rom. Supposedly, those are no longer being shipped. Not
 so.
