Pfinish, from Phoenix Software Associates in Norwood, MA, can profile
entry to and exit from a function by placing breakpoints like a
debugger would (I.E. no special compilation required, as long as your
object file has symbols).   I can't comment on whether it works, since
I have never used it, but it has been around for quite a while, and I
have heard that it works.
