I've had my 1040 just over a week, and I'm pleased. It was worth waiting a couple of weeks, as I had to do. Apparently the owner of The Bit Bucket in Newton, Mass., which claims to be the only dealer in New England, is friendly with Mr Tramiel, so they get reasonable supplies. In fact The Great Jack favored the store with a visit last week--he could hardly do that if the shelves had been empty. A Bug. The composite and r/f outputs aren't installed. I called the store when I discovered this, which is important to me as I have a b&w system and it's my only way to see color; in fact Neo won't run at all in monochrome. They said the modulators will arrive in a couple of months and then they'd install them free. Grrr.
