Thanks to all those who responded to my question about getting microemacs
v30 to run on the ST.  Eventually I hit upon the idea of casting the pointers
it was trying to subtract to long, the compiler warnings went away, and it
linked fine.  Since others have gotten the code to work "as is", I suspect
there is a bug in the version of the C compiler that came with my developer's
kit (which I just got a few weeks ago) that is not present in earlier 
versions.
