I recently upgraded a 600XL from 16K to 64K ram.  Materials required:
two
64K x 4 memories and three pieces of wire (cost about $12).
Time required: about 1/2 to 1 hour.  (That does not include time to
figure
out how to do it, of course).
It probably voided my warranty (:-).
If there is any interest, I will write up instructions and post them.
