However, I also wanna news access. Right now, I use a VAX where I work. It costs me nothing, and it is no hassle. If I get a Mac+, say, what do I need? 1) What modems are good? By good, I mean they must support multiple protocols as used here in Europe. I want to be able to take the creature with me when I travel to the USA, UK, Middle East,... 2) What software do I need? What software is useful which comes with modems (like smartcomII), but what do I _really_ need for full functionality with this UNIX distributed ews system? I want to be able to read, post, mail to posters, recieve direct from others, and use general e-mail. And of course I want to get binaries and sources which get posted to the net. 3) What number do I call? I am in Munich West Germany. How do I do all this stuff?
