Message-ID: <1126@bunker.UUCP> Date: Thu, 17-Apr-86 14:26:34 EST Article-I.D.: bunker.1126 Posted: Thu Apr 17 14:26:34 1986 Date-Received: Wed, 23-Apr-86 20:03:17 EST Reply-To: shap@bunker.UUCP (Joseph D. Shapiro) Organization: Bunker Ramo, Trumbull Ct Lines: 34 [go for it, line-eater!] I should start by saying that I am a good unix hacker, but a sub-novice DOS user. My request deals with an XT-clone running DOS 3.something. I am aware of programs which print data from a file while the user merrily runs other programs. My requirement is the converse (?). Computer A, of unimportant type, is "printing" at 300 baud, XON/XOFF, to what it thinks is a serial printer. Computer A is _really_ attached to my XT clone via a serial link. I need to shuttle all that serial data to a file, all day long, while I merrily run other programs. At the end of the day (or week, whatever), I want to gracefully stop the spooling program, and analyze the collected data. I would prefer to accomplish this all in C, but I suspect that alot of assembler is required. At this point, I would be greatful for pointers to good literature, but I would be extremely glad if someone had more specific Advice. Thanks in advance, --joe. -- -_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_ Joseph D.
