You can create a program in Pascal, C, Basic, or whatever your favorite language is, to send the required characters to the screen or printer. For example, you could have a printer control program that sends an ESC-E to your printer that turns on Emphasized print. The program could be a file called EMPH.COM. The command from dBase to set Emphasized print on would be RUN EMPH Is this the sort of thing you were looking for?
