Message-ID: <595@talcott.UUCP> Date: Wed, 21-May-86 08:51:41 EDT Article-I.D.: talcott.595 Posted: Wed May 21 08:51:41 1986 Date-Received: Sat, 24-May-86 01:14:28 EDT Organization: Harvard Univ. IBM "just" announced 3.5" external drives, two different models for PC's and AT's. a) Who makes them? b) What are the pinouts/interfaces (especially on the AT which has no external connector on its floppy controller and only handles 2 disk drives)? What are the diffs between the XT/AT models? c) Question C directed at Mac external drives. d) Can a cable be devised to interchange these devices? (Use Apple hardware on a PC) e) Has anyone with IBM options and adapters tech ref or Hardware service manuals rec'd updates for any of this new stuff? I own both, am in the free update period, and have rec'd nothing to date. Please reply to net.micro.pc or directly to centralize the respose. I will cross post a summary as dictated by interest.
