Well, gatech isn't the only place with big news mess-ups.  Sometime early
Wednesday morning, the date got set to July, 1991 on all of the Comp Sci
systems at the UW.  It was just our misfortune that expire ran on
them all soon afterward.  This caused all of our machines to lose all
of their news.  I have no idea what got batched before then, but I assume
most everything did -- I try to get batching done before expiring (uwvax
is a poor, little 780).

For all of those places that get news through uwvax, there really are other
routes to most of you (outside wisconsin).  That's why uwvax isn't a
backbone site.  For Madison campus sites and the other sites in-state, I'm
sorry about any lost news, but I can't get it back.

Moral:  Don't synchronize your clocks.
