Text in Computers is a scholarly journal published four times a year covering all aspects of the use of text in computers: text input, processing character and word strings, and output. Text in Computers will be of interest to all researchers, programmers, and analysts who work with text. The regular features will include research papers, technology updates, book reviews, hardware and software descriptions, algorithm notes, a database of text professionals and researchers, and an information exchange. Text in Computers will fill a gap that exists in the magazines for computer scientists and will aid programmers who work with word processing and data manipulation programs. I am sure that many of you have research papers that would be appropriate for Text in Computers. We will be covering some of the topics that are covered in net.text, and extended articles are especially welcome. Please call or write if you would like to submit papers for the first issue. Subscriptions for Text in Computers are $25 for one year (4 issues). Foreign subscriptions (outside U.S., Canada, and Mexico) are $50. The first issue will be published in Summer 1986.
