With Ultrix V1.2, DEC has distributed a disk exerciser. They also
distribute a program (rabads) that searches a disk for "bad blocks"
and optionally forces the bad blocks to be rewritten (with the 
same bad data, of course). Rabads runs standalone.  I'm looking for
other disk, esp RD53, utilities that run during timesharing. I'd
really like something that will format a disk since DEC won't
distribute their program, and it runs standalone as well.
