I have talked with the MS people many times and they cannot suggest how to get it to work. Here are the symptoms. Using MS-WORD 3.0 i configured COM1: as mode COM1:96,N,8,1,P I am using a cable that is wired as follows: PC LaserWriter 1 -------------- 1 2 -------------- 3 3 -------------- 2 5+6 ------------ 20 4 -------------- 8 7 -------------- 7 20 ------------- 5+6 If i set the LW to "special" I can simply send text files out COM1: and they print out. So I know something meaningufl is getting through. If I set the LW to "9600" I can see that data come across the line. The amber light flashes for several seconds and then nothing. I never get anything out when I have it set at 9600. Am I doing something wrong? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. MS finally suggested that I get an HP laserjet cable because that is what they use. Does the cable look wrong? Thanks Kim Wallen Psychology Department Emory University Atlanta.
