I'm afraid that I don't have any answers for you (at least at this
time), because I am still waiting for an Ethernet transceiver before
hooking up the exact same configuration that you have.  But I would
be interested in any responses you get.  I might also suggest that
you send something to mod.protocols.appletalk if you haven't already
done so; that's the only place I've seen any discussion of EFS/Kinetics
(mail to info-applebus@c.cs.cmu.edu).
