They are made by Micropolis, and thae can be used in the PC, XT or AT. It takes some monkey-business to get the thing working on a pc, as the PC was not designed with a hard drive in mind, much less a 71 meg. On the AT it is a type 4. At any rate, the drive runs at 30ms (a very respectible speed) and is pretty quiet. You can hear a little popping sounds, but nothing bad. I have one myself and it works very well. (I tend to use hard drives to death- I killed a CORE, and that takes WORK.) The best thing about the drive is the price. The guy wants $1250 for them.. and he has lots. I bought one before he was able to get sane, and I would recommend you do the same. Also: I have a nice little program that will do all the formatting for you. But i'll format them if you want.. it's kind of a pain to do. Joseph Russack uucp: ucbvax!ucsfcgl!russack
