Yes, AST RAM disk software will work and so, apparently, will Quadram's. The embarassment was that one respondent pointed out that the 6300 comes with a RAM disk driver and that all my questions were answered in Appendix H-1 of the 6300 manual. Yes, it is all there and very clear. My only excuse is that is wasn't my machine. Thanks to everyone that responded. My friend appreciated the information very much, even if it was included in her manual.
