Just to update my story  on having troubles with J&M controllers and
coco II's.

IT WAS THE CONTROLLER!!! Evidently, the write track command (used
exclusvely for formatting) was bad. I used a friend's computer to
prove it.

I did have two controllers, and must've gotten confused when I tried
them out. Formatting worked in basic once, but not again. That's
because I had used the good controller while in basic but not OS9.
I did get some mail about bad extra DOS ROMS being a possibility.
Once I put my RS-DOS ROM in the working controller, no problems.
