I am trying to write an AmigaBasic program which will control an X10 powerhouse home control interface. I have run into what appears to be a bug in either (a) AmigaBasic's COM1: file handling (b) the serial driver itself or (c) the serial port hardware. To wit: When the X10 controller send a hex FF (decimal 255) up to my amiga, I get NOTHING out the other end. I do, however, get non FF data just fine. What Gives?? Can anybody suggest a way out of this problem? (Snotty "use C" statements are NOT a way out for this project. The idea was not only to create a programmmer/controller for the X10 box, but also to serve as an example that beginning programmers can pull apart and play with.) Thanx, I would send this directly to commodore, but my contact there quit for a better job. I would appreciate whoever is doing his job in tech support dropping me a line with their net address, I used to mail randy@cbmvax. Jeff Kesselman ihnp4!uwvax!maccunix!net P.S. Please mail a copy of any suggestions to me directly, as I can't begin to keep up with net.micro.amiga!
