I'm having trouble initializing the RS-232 port on my ST. The rsconf call takes 6 parameters: baud, flow-control, the four registers on the 68901. My problem: The documentation states that passing a value of -1 for the register contents will leave them alone. So that's what I do. I use the Set RS232 configuration desk acc. to set the parity, number bits etc. I'm trying to send a full 8bits out to my synthesizer, but it appears that only 7 are getting there and back. 1) am i wrong in assuming that setting the configuration with the desk acc. will configure the port for my program? 2) can anyone list the various values that should be passed for the control register values. (ie. do the status registers need to be cleared. what bits in the control registers control what, etc.) I thank anyone who can shine light on my problem. =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= If the facts do not conform to the theory, they must be disposed of.
