Lines: 30 Keywords: laserwriter, microsoft_word, print_merge, laserprep I had a problem with manual feed on the LaserWriter and John Dodson (johnd@physiol.su.oz) was kind enough to find me a solution. Here's the problem and the fix: A problem arises with Microsoft word when you do manual feeding with printmerge. If you're printing envelopes or some such, Word treats each as a separate document and the LaserWriter spits out one page of instructions per envelope. The postscript that does this can be found in the laserprep file in the system folder. The solution is: 1. Copy your disc with the laserwriter stuff on it. 2. Edit laserprep (a file in the system folder) with Fedit. 3. Find the point where the manual feed instructions are. 4. Just after them it says... (completed.)show 0 page (An ascii search for "completed" will find this point.) 5. Change the word "page" to "pop " the space is important. 6. Save it. 7. Try printing with the new "laserprep" as the active one. This will probably mean turning off/on the Laserwriter. -- ACSnet: derek@gucis.oz ARPA: derek%gucis.oz@seismo.css.gov CSNET: derek@gucis.oz UUCP: ..!seismo!munnari!gucis.oz!derek JANET: gucis.oz!derek@ukc D
