What other newsgroups would be -- appropriate? Does anyone have experience with or knowledge of computer aided Structrued Analysis (DeMarco/Yourdon style) tools? I have ordered an evaluation copy of PCSA produced by StructSoft, Inc. in Parsippany NJ. I will be attending a demonstration of Excelerator from Index Technology Corporation. I know that Tektronix has software, but it runs only on Tek hardware. I don't know of any others which run on a personal computer. I don't know of any which run on impersonnal computers. My requirements are: - Handles the Data Flow Diagram in a graphical form; - Has a Data Dictionary; - Flags unbalanced data flows, dictionary errors, etc.; - Is easy to use (like the manual method); - Does not cost an arm and a leg (max budget = $3K); and - Runs on one of the following (the machines I have easy access to): IBM AT or XT with Microsoft mouse VAX 780 or 8600 with BSD 4.2 & VT-240 VAX 750 with VMS & VT-240 uVAX-II with VMS & VT-240 Stride 640 with Unix SVR(?2) & VT-240 It would be nice if it could evaluate a mini-spec too, but that may be asking too much from some of these packages.
