Lines: 14 I hope someone can explain why my AT (which has an EGA card) hangs up when I send an escape sequence to the terminal device. If I create a file with the following sequence of characters "ESC [ 2 J" (the ANSI clear-screen code) and issue the command, "TYPE filename" where filename contains the above escape sequence, the computer clears the screen, does not print a new prompt, and ceases to respond to any commands on the keyboard. In fact, continued typing on the keyboard eventually produces a beeping, obviously signifying that a keyboard buffer is full. The config.sys file does set device=ansi.sys but maybe I should be setting it equal to some other thing for EGA cards? I hope somebody can explain and solve my problem (I can't run microemacs this way). HELP, Al Gudaitis
