     I am interested in any information about hard disk caches.

  1.)  What kind of performance improvements are posible?
  2.)  Recomendations on different programs that are available
             (Public domain or Commercial).
  3.)  What algorithms are used (LRU would seem the most useful
       but may not be the easiest to implement) ?
