What does crack have to do with hallugenic drugs? Native Americans have taken peyote and magic mushrooms for thousands of years and some of us are of the opinion that they had societies far more together than ours. Just because Europeans managed to kill most of the Native Americans does not mean that they are "better." > > > >You'll have more freedom than you ever wanted, because it won't be long that > >you'll be thinking of killing yourself. Dick > _A_Scanner_Darkly_ > The subject of drugs and society is treated in non-fiction form by by Aldous Huxley in "Doors to Perception." A very good book on drugs and society is "Cerimonial Chemistry" by Thomas Szaz. Dick's book is sort of autobiographical. He died of speed abuse. Of course, the anti-drug dogma can be found in "The Ann Landers Encylopedia from A to Z." A true academic marvel. -- scc!steiny Don Steiny @ Don Steiny Software 109 Torrey Pine Terrace Santa Cruz, Calif. 95060 (408) 425-0382
