The IBM-3081 at our computing center (UKCC.BITNET) will be down for a
short time due to a fire in the dataswitch (which is in the same machine 
room).  Until the IBM is back up our bitnet connection will be down
and we will be recieving no news (and unable to send news out) via bitnet.
They claim it will be back up tomorrow.

Any mail going through here destined for bitnet will be delayed as well.

There should be no other effects... :-)
