A little ember
Of love and hate
Still burns in my heart
At any rate,
Though not half as hot,
Nor half as great.
With time it started
To abate.

It once was love
That then turned cold.
Hate flowered from the old.
In time that withered too,
Along with memories
Of you.

A little flower
Of love and hate,
Withered but for 
Caring's sake.
