Hi,

I'm interested in compressing English text for data transmission.
It sounds like a useful thing to do if you're transmitting lots
of the stuff like wire services etc do.

I know there's lots of DATA compression techniques, but I'm
sure I can recall that there exist nice techniques for
compressing TEXT by 50% or more.

I'd be grateful if someone can E-mail me some info
or give me a pointer to a paper or book which
discusses this.
