Do you think it has any merit as an organization, and if so what? Does Canada gain anything from belonging to the Commonwealth? The reason I am asking is because of all the talk about the Commonwealth breaking up over sanctions etc. against South Africa. Suppose Mrs. Thatcher does not budge and it's bye-bye Commonwealth (not that that would necessary be the result of Mrs. Thatcher's actions), what then? Does it matter?
