I have several user generating large amounts of data (our Eagle 387Mb
is full with much more to come).  In trying to get the users to
archive there data on mag tape they have complained about the time it
takes to tar files.  I've tried writing the tapes in streaming mode
but the drive spends most of its time respositioning.

Has anyone found a way to use the Cipher tape drive in the streaming
mode effectively?
