Message-ID: <8607201741.AA16405@seismo.CSS.GOV> Date: Sun, 20-Jul-86 06:23:56 EDT Article-I.D.: seismo.8607201741.AA16405 Posted: Sun Jul 20 06:23:56 1986 Date-Received: Mon, 21-Jul-86 00:45:38 EDT Sender: daemon@ucbvax.BERKELEY.EDU Organization: The ARPA Internet Lines: 21 Approved: info-applebus@c.cs.cmu.edu We built a Seagate gateway and installed it here at DCIEM. All is well with efs and with mac-ip software. Our problem is an interaction with the laserWriter recently added to the appletalk subnet. The "Dec 85 Software supplement" Appletalk release version40/41 seems to describe our problem as far as we had traced it - the internet problem with NBP lookup when on a non-zero network number. When tested with System 3.1 (AppleTalk driver 41) we still had no success reaching the LaserWriter as long as Seagate box was broadcasting RTMP packets. The Appletalk Version 40/41 release notes also mention a change to RTMP to accomodate MPP acquisition of netnumber on startup. ?? Does this require a change to the Seagate code. ?? Has anyone else seen/conquered this problem. ...!decvax!utzoo!dciem!djr (Doug Ross - Andyne Computing Limited)
