There has been some talk on info-apple that AT&T have successfully sued Novation over the Apple-Cat modem, which apparently is the premier modem among phone phreaks. The Cat can generate all the tones phreaks love, 2600Hz, KP, MF tones. (it doesn't support them DIRECTLY, but the modem has oscillators (or whatever) in it that make it capable of many sounds, even crude voice synthesis) I don't understand how AT&T could get away with this kind of bullying. The people they should be suing are the ones who developed TSPS in their infinite wisdom.
