My brother is starting to play around with programming and has
a TI 99/4A.  He would like to output to the printer but something is
not working.  I believe that the problem is software related.  He
is using the BASIC that comes with the machine.  The documentation
is abysmal.  What I am requesting is that somebody will e-mail me
an example two lines of code that open the printer as a device and
send something to it.  We've tried about every combination of
commas, semi-colons, and quotations that we could think of.  It goes
something like this...

10  open #1 "pio"
20  print #1 "this is to be printed"
