Recently, I was working on a modem program and needed to strip the high
bit or "AND" the chars as they come in.  I came up with a coupld of ways to
accomplish this, but I am new do M2 and am not sure the "right" way to do it.
I haven't run accross any obvious method as some *other* languages have.

I appreciate your help, with any luck I will have this xmodem procedure
working soon!
