BBS do not exist in Germany except a few which run over a switched network (DATEX-P). The simple fact is just that one can not buy a modem and hook it up as we do here in the US. The German Telephon Company won't let you. A modem needs to be installed and rented from the "Deutsche Bundes Post" and as far as I remember this is not a cheap solution.
